Moustopiperia is a traditional Greek specialty made from organic red pepper sticks preserved in grape must (the freshly pressed juice of wine grapes). The grape must imparts a sweet, tangy, fruity character that balances the mild peppery bite. It is typically served as a meze alongside cheese, charcuterie, or crusty bread — a centuries-old Greek preservation tradition from northern Greece.
Are the Greek pepper spreads suitable for vegans?
Most of our organic Greek pepper spreads are naturally vegan — including the Roasted Red Pepper, Pesto Green Pepper, Eggplant & Roasted Red Pepper, and Caviar Filet Pepper spreads. The Sweet Red Pepper & Graviera Cheese Spread contains PDO Cretan Graviera (sheep's and goat's milk cheese) and is not vegan. All spreads are free from artificial preservatives, colorants, and additives.
