Named Greek Producers, Direct to Your Table
Alpha Omega Imports was founded in 2016 on a simple belief: the best Greek foods come from producers who have perfected their craft over generations, and you should be able to find out who they are. We are not just importers, we are storytellers, connecting you with the artisans, olive groves, and dairies that make Greece's culinary heritage so extraordinary.
We travel to Greece, visit the producers, taste the products at the source, and import only what we would serve at our own table. Every SKU on our site has a provenance story, and we only publish the details we can document.
The Families Behind Alpha Omega
Alpha Omega Imports is owned by two Greeks who grew up around the food they now import. Petros Dimakis comes from a farming family in Martino, Lokrida, a village with its own olive trees, where he learned early how much work a small grove demands and how little oil it gives. That's exactly why we source our EVOO from Sparta Gourmet in Laconia, who do this at real scale, and why we never pretend otherwise. Giannis Sfakianoudis was born on Chios and still keeps his family's traditional house there. He and his family return to the island for two to three months every year. When we tell you where a product comes from, it's because one of us has probably stood in that place.

How We Source
We build relationships with Greek producers we can name. This producer-first model means:
- Authenticity you can taste: Every bottle of olive oil, every wheel of feta, comes from producers we know personally
- Fresher products: We import in small, frequent consignments rather than sitting on aged stock
- Fair terms for producers: Our relationships are built to last, not squeezed to the last cent
- Complete transparency: We tell you the region, the producer, and the harvest date, and nothing we cannot back up
- Uncompromising quality control: Every product is personally vetted, tasted, and approved before we import it
From Sparta's Olive Groves to Your Kitchen
Take our Sparta Gourmet Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It is single-origin Koroneiki from Laconia, the variety responsible for some of the world's highest-polyphenol olive oil, milled by Sparta Gourmet, the family-owned Laconian plant founded by the Valioti family, using Alfa Laval contherm low-temperature extraction. The result is a bold, peppery EVOO with documented polyphenol counts that most supermarket olive oils cannot match.
This level of detail isn't marketing, it's the standard we hold ourselves to. When you buy from Alpha Omega Imports, you're not just getting "Greek olive oil." You're getting oil from a named region and mill, with a harvest date on the bottle. Learn more about Koroneiki EVOO

What Makes Us Different
We don't claim to be the biggest Greek food importer in America, but we are among the most selective. We prioritize:
- Quality over quantity: Every product has been personally vetted and approved
- Relationships over transactions: We visit our producers, know their families, understand their methods
- Authenticity over convenience: We choose traditional production methods even when modern shortcuts exist
- Documented provenance: If we cannot verify a claim in writing with the producer, we do not print it
Our customers include home cooks who want the real taste of Greece, chefs who demand restaurant-quality ingredients, and anyone who believes that food should tell a story. Greek expats in the USA, find the pantry staples you grew up with
